The hours we aim for
CarQnA is an AI voice assistant for Irish drivers, in development now. The aim: ask about specs, prices, VRT, NCT, motor tax or servicing and get a plain answer in seconds. It is not open yet. Today the site offers written guides and an early access list.
Our Story
How CarQnA is coming together
One frustration, one idea, and a lot of Irish motoring data.
Nobody could give a straight answer
Buying or running a car in Ireland meant ringing dealers, guessing VRT and trawling forum threads. Drivers deserved better.

The problem
33 brands, one set of notes
We are gathering specs, pricing and the Irish rules into one knowledge base, built from what Revenue, NCTS, SEAI and the manufacturers publish.

The data
Ask it like you would ask a friend
We are working on a natural Irish voice to sit on top, so anyone can ask out loud with no menus, forms or jargon in the way.

The voice
Not open yet
The voice assistant is still in development. Today you can read our guides and join the early access list. We want it to be free for drivers and are working out how to fund that.

Today
Why us
What we want CarQnA to be
Grounded in official sources
We are building answers on what Revenue, NCTS, SEAI and the manufacturers publish, and our guides link to every source.
Neutral by design
CarQnA is not tied to any dealer or car brand. The aim is an answer about your car, not a sales pitch.
Plain English
No jargon. VRT, NCT and motor tax explained the way a knowledgeable friend would explain them.
Any hour, no queue
The goal is an answer in seconds, day or night, with no hold music and no waiting for a callback.
Voice first
We are designing it for voice first, so you can ask hands-free. Typing is an option we are exploring too.
A human when it matters
Hands-on jobs need a real mechanic. We are looking at ways to point you towards a local garage or dealer.
Our vision
The old way vs the CarQnA we are building
- Ringing around garages for a price, our aim: One clear answer in seconds
- Waiting days for a call back, our aim: An answer at any hour of the day
- Guessing your VRT and motor tax, our aim: Irish tax, NCT and VRT figures, with sources
- A different answer from everyone, our aim: Built on what Revenue, NCTS and SEAI publish
